This ones MINE

Thought you might like to see some of what I have been upto of late :)
I've got hooked on chain maille and even sawing my own jump rings after a few false starts and broken blades .

If you want to see more then please take a look at Smudge Designs

I have also been playing with polymer clay and made my version of a green man

I've use an embossing folder for the textured background, the leaves from a mould I made from a junk shop find and the face from a push mould then painted and distressed

Hope you like and thanks for popping by

Bah humbug for out of the hat

Yep I'm bah humbug but as it's Christmas  in October  at Out of the Hat so thought I had better get my act together and make a decoration or two. There are some lovely examples from the team so do have a look :)
Very simple to make with craft wire, wind around a knitting keeping the coils close together like a spring then slip off, make a little loop at one end for a hook to hang it by. then all you have to do is wind it around your finger with the base of the tree being at the thickest part of the finger then it's just a matter of manipulating the wire until you are happy with the shape .Finished off with some dollops of stickels, they would make fun earing too ha ha

And now something with a little more finesse some wire earrings. I have some commisions for these in all sorts of colours

Check out what Sam and Neet have made both very different
Come and join us and we will be only to pleased to visit you and if you have followed the rules one of which is to give some idea as to how you made your entrie, you could be in with a chance to win a £10 voucher from Oyster Stamps

Packaging for Out of the Hat

Not so much the packaging as  I use that a lot, a lot of the time but what holds the packaging together, I mean the staples in big boxes you know the ones made out of the corrugated cards friends think 'm batty hording trash but I do get round to finding a use for it eventually :

I can't remember where that spring came from but it came in handy for making the links .
Now pop on over to Out of the Hat as see what the lovely ladies have made over there :)

If anyone would like this one I'm open to offers :) just email me

Ring bling and wire work

Hi all yesterday ( Saturday ) I went to  Art in Action at Waterperry Gardens and what a fantastic day it was with so much to see, more than we could do in a day I would have loved to show you all some photos of the day but being a bear of little brain I forgot to put the SD card back in my camera :(. How ever I did learn how to make a wire ring, was to late to sign up for the class but the tutor was very helpful and talked me through it, so had to do it as soon as I got home before I forgot :)
I've used a small piece of sea glass and a few beads

and this is a piece of shrink plastic decorated with UTEE and then wire wrapped. I really enjoyed making these and will certainly be doing some more in the future :)

Just for fun's First Challenge

Here we go with the first post for a new Challenge Blog Just For Fun . I'm very happy to be part of a new blog that we hope will challenge you to think out side the box for the themes set each week, ok so I'm not that messy this week but it's a popular theme hearts with wings so hope you like how I have interpreted it and do pop over and see what Zoe and Sam have made.
I look forward to seeing what you do.

The wings are done with  shrink plastic stamps from Hot off the press and I have used beading wire which I have twisted threaded on the buttons and used seed beads. This would make a lovely pendant for a delicate necklace
This also fits in nicely with the Artistic Stampers Challenge Love is in the air

Got the knitting needle out

I have always knitted ever since I was a child from Arran and fairisle to lace but I've never done it with wire before or made much in the way of jewellery, but had this urge anything to avoid making Christmas cards and once I'd started I couldn't stop lol.

I managed to sell a few to cover the cost and gave some as presents .
