Venture into the Unknown

This is a venture into  the unknown as the Craft  Barn are having  an alpha challenge once a fortnight and I hope I have understood the instructions aghh as I haven't used a dictionary but a photo album I picked up at the charity shop, the  paper is a fab and bound in a way that there is room for embellishments and enough pages for the challenge, so an apt title for the first page.
The background has gone through many changes over the last week but I did start off with dylusion sprays and stencils and ended up using acrylic paints and archival inks.
The die cut letter from corrugated card are dipped into molton UTEE with a friendly plastic key and face and a shrink plastic stamp TH bird

Altered Book with Jennie

Today I've had a really good time time when I did the Altered Book class With Jennie from the Stamp Connection who came to a local shop at Fareham so nice not to have to travel to far :)
Of course we all started by looking at what our book was call and most of us Oh I want to read it mine was called the Age of Elegance expecting a Romance but no it was about wars anyway I digress
Lot's of different product Terra paste spray inks gesso UTTE. The front back and spine is gesso through a stencil and stamping with gesso dabbed with colour wash

Somewhere in the middle we did the folded page with tags
Then at the back we did the niche  it could have been deeper but I was losing the will to live sticking all the pages together lol it was then covered with Terra paste and stamping into it

and then onto the melt pot for a mold to go into the niche
I shall have to continue this book as I'm so pleased with my results,
Thanks for popping by and if you get the chance for a class with Jennie you won't be dissapointed :)

Ring bling and wire work

Hi all yesterday ( Saturday ) I went to  Art in Action at Waterperry Gardens and what a fantastic day it was with so much to see, more than we could do in a day I would have loved to show you all some photos of the day but being a bear of little brain I forgot to put the SD card back in my camera :(. How ever I did learn how to make a wire ring, was to late to sign up for the class but the tutor was very helpful and talked me through it, so had to do it as soon as I got home before I forgot :)
I've used a small piece of sea glass and a few beads

and this is a piece of shrink plastic decorated with UTEE and then wire wrapped. I really enjoyed making these and will certainly be doing some more in the future :)

UTEE Play

On Sunday I went to the craft barn and had a wonderful time and met Suze Wienburg wow was so great, very friendly and generous making us each a piece honeycomb UTEE jewelery couldn't find the honeycomb pot holder mat but did find a square one at John Lewis so had a play last night
I used a memory frame for the long ones and a large split ring for the squares but as you can see the utee oozes out so you still get the squares not sure what I am going to do with them yet :).
then I thought how would the friendly plastic look so used a few little scrappy bits and I'm pleased with the results
