Thank you Tando and a travel postcard

This week at Out of the Hat Creations would like to see a travel postcard, something I would love to do if only I didn't have a phobia about filling in the pasport form !
I've blown the dust off the brayer to create my background and stamped with water then added random images stamped on scraps of background papers with a couple of postage stamps and PSX pixie expressions

Last week I was lucky enough win the Tando Challenge and WOW what a fab prize a BIG thank you from me :)

Sports mad at Just for Fun

Looks like you enjoyed Neet's vintage men  and we certainly saw some wonderful mixed media pieces :)Now Neet would like you think of a sporting card for the man in your life, mind you I did have to smile when we had a few black and white sport themed cards at the begining of the month so now you can colour them in tehe
In this house if it hasn't got an engine they're not interested lol with snooker being the exception . I have made a backgound as seen in my last post with butterscotch and cranberry and simply stamp my image ,
I can't think why making mens cards has brought out the c&s crafter in me lol
Hope you will come and see what Neet and Zoe have made at Just for Fun
The Creative Crew are also having men as their theme

Mono Printing with a brayer

I thought with all the talk of mono printing I'd show one of  the ways I like to make backgrounds

Ink up your brayer 50-50 with two colour inks ( or use a big and juice/ kalidacolour pad ) here I have used eggplant and lettuce.

Roll the brayer back and forth on a clear acrylic block this will blend the 2 colours and spritz with water or a water and mica mix the amount of water will depend on how absorbent your paper or card is .

Next stamp it onto your card. Now you have a unique background for stamping on or die cutting

magic in the air

I wanted to do a brayerd tag for a swap and I think it just fits in with Sir Stampalot's challenge of a magical world.
Brayed with big and juicy and water stamped with a fern the stamp, the image I've used is from Creative Stamping you can't see it in the photo but there's a little perfect pearls on her and I have bleached out the flower all edged with a silver pen .
Thanks for stopping by :)
A quick edit as I see it's the Craft-rooms first challenge and it's anything goes.
Good luck to the new team :)

Size still matters at Just for fun

We saw some superb postcards last week so well done to you all and I'd like to welcome Florence this week as a guest on the design team, she has created some amazing works from the first challenge and this week is no exception
Yes we are going smaller again this week with Neets choice of size matters and it's tea cards,  remember the brooke bond tea cards little cards of art and information 2.5 x 1.25 well we would like you to give this size ago and to keep it authentic you need to keep the white border I did mine buy cutting the card then masking and then stamping and braying. Lots of ideas over on the Just For Fun challenge blog
Hope you will join us in the fun and maybe consider joining in the swap

Hip to be Square week 12 at Just for fun challenge

Ok you can breath easy this week as it's squares at Just for Fun, so many thanks to those of you who rose to the star challenge :)

So this week I'm asking you to think of squares 1 or many just make them the main feature of your art. I have chosen to make 2, a card with a background stamp from Hero arts. Stamp in black and embossed with a holographic powder on a brayerd glossy card, I then removed some of the colour from the squares and colour in with pro markers, cut it to fit my card and mounted a stamped image and the text . The piece I had left over has been mounted behind glass and edged with copper foil tape and it's this piece I shall be putting in the swap :)

Week 8 Just for Fun

I am really enjoying reading your blogs and commenting, finding inspiration and forgotten techniques. Some one last week tried but didn't manage to get the Jacob's coat technique right, it's not new to me but had put it to the back of my mind and as this, the last week of Zoe theme on Just for Fun is to  a stamp in a different way. though why not :)
You need Glossy card
Dye inks eg: kaleidacolor, big and juice
A stamp not to detailed , a Brayer works best but cut n dry or sponge will do and of course clear embossing powder
I have applied the coloured ink with a make up sponge and  left some of the background white, then brayerd over the top with a blue .
Well hope you like my offering for this week and look forward to visiting you :)

So here's my finally card for Lots To Do
not sure the colours used show to well in the photo I have used Adirondack Peach bellini and Butterscotch ink.

Popped round to Lucy's a couple of weeks ago and did some stamping and brayering some on glossy card and also on matt card, I used the Kaleidacolor ink pads gives a different look to the big and juicy ones. Oh and I left Lucy with my speed ball brayer to play with, so wonder how she got on ?
The faux stamp backgrounds were done with the brayer on matt card stock

Brayering

Ok back on track with my alpha challenge I love to use my brayer and here's three cards using 3 different techniques

This one uses masking I stamped the birds and flourishes, masked the main image and used the flowers from Spellbinder before going over it with the brayer. Stamps from inkadinkado

Versa resist stamp from G studio

This is the same ink as the other card Vibrant primary big and juice but this card stock is a high gloss finish .

This is the last one I did and my fave :)
whilst making the first I stamped off on to scrap paper and cleaned my brayer on it. I just though oh lovely I can use that tehe
So look carefully before you throw anything away
hope you like it .
