challenge 23 at Artful Times

What a wonderful selection of Asian style creation we visited over the last fortnight
Neet has choosen a colourful technique for the new challenge at Artful Times and there certianly  are enough to choose from but I choose none instead going for a freehand doodle and colour blocking you could of course do the same with a stamped image.

I've used a sharpie for the black and distress marker for my colours

How ever you use your colour make it bold and bright :) and we will come and vist you

Well I never expected that !

For a forum swap we had to make a tag with a shadowed image and for some reason I wanted to use white as the shadow after a few failed attempts I settled on glossy card and used brilliance white and then stamp with a dye ink and to my surprise the white came through the darker ink giving what I think is a pleasing effect

I am also doing an online course with Jennifer McGuire, for the first day we have done different resist techniques and this is the first card made using the basic resist with Veramark on glossy card and dye ink
On the base card I stamped with versamark and brushed with mandarin perfect pearls
Thank for stopping by :)

Week 8 Just for Fun

I am really enjoying reading your blogs and commenting, finding inspiration and forgotten techniques. Some one last week tried but didn't manage to get the Jacob's coat technique right, it's not new to me but had put it to the back of my mind and as this, the last week of Zoe theme on Just for Fun is to  a stamp in a different way. though why not :)
You need Glossy card
Dye inks eg: kaleidacolor, big and juice
A stamp not to detailed , a Brayer works best but cut n dry or sponge will do and of course clear embossing powder
I have applied the coloured ink with a make up sponge and  left some of the background white, then brayerd over the top with a blue .
Well hope you like my offering for this week and look forward to visiting you :)

A birthday card

I've used DI's wrinkle free technique on water colour paper. the rose has been stamp on top then cut so the raffia can be threaded under the image .
Hope you had a happy birthday Hilda :)

New home card

I really enjoy making this card with stamps from Crafty Individuals , they are stamped onto a shaving foam back ground cut out and layered onto pearlecant paper cut with a spellbinder and inked with distress ink, finished off with a ribbon and a cuttle bug board embossing folder inked and cut out .
Hope you like the finished result :)
