Distressed and spooky

Artful Times are all about distress this fortnight and Ali Craft are after your Halloween creations a perfect match, not that mine is anywhere near perfect.
I've used my new favourite, distress paints wrinkle free as you would for the inks

Also Tag Along, a haunted house

I can't believe how luck I was to see these toadstools on the grass just outside my house, it must be at least 40 years since I last took photos of some in a wood

Please feel free to save the photo's and use as you like
Have a good week all and thank you for popping by :)

This tag started with the distress paint resist one of the tags from the first day of Tim's 102

The colours I have used are bundled sage, mahogany, dried marigold and peacock, don't you just love the richness of the mahogany .

Now it just so happens it fits into the Fashionable Stamping challenge ... use a stencil or mask
Thank you for taking the time to visit :)
Right  back to stalking my mail box waiting for the start of Tim's 102

Eat drink and be Merry

Eat drink and be merry that's the theme at Frilly and Funky and Forgotten things at Our Creative Corner
It all started with the background which was the result of a play with the distress paints, the tea cup stamp an old wood mounted  one from Docrafts cut out and stuck one with a little piece of lace to look like a doily

Hope this post ok as blogger is playing me up
Thank you for a great challenges ladies and thank you  for popping by :)

Autumnal Stripes

Mr mojo seems to be playing along with me at the moment, so with inspiration coming from Fun with ATC's stripes and Alie - Crafts autumn, as last night I was playing with the alcohol inks but more of that to come when it's finished as I went off on a tangent making this ATC lol

I just love the way the inks in the glossy card glow just like autumn on a sunny day

Scraps at Artful Times

I'm sure none of like to waste a single scrap of paper and have boxes full of them, with that in mind and Finnabair's classes still fresh in my mind (we used the scraps left over for the journal pages) I decided  to make a mini page, nowhere near as full on as the one we did in the class but this is going to be a topper on a card.

If your using up your scraps on a project then pop along to Artful Times and join in the challenge and if your layering it up pop along to Country View Crafters challenge

Thank you for popping by :)

Here's one of the pages in the book we did

First project was a 12 x12, I've never work on such a large piece before

Second project was the canvas 8 x8 a size more in my comfort zone but still a first for me really enjoyed making it and plan to do some more in the future :)

Finale project a journal cover and I'm feeling more confident

We then did some journal pages with what we had left over, but scatty me left one of them behind so I'll post them another day

Opps it's a mirror

Ever had one of those days when you just watch something fall to the floor well that's what happened to the glass of this frame, but all is not lost as I found I  had a mirror tile that fitted phew !!!

I've used mulberry papers I've had for ages, and stamped on some of them,  tore it into pieces and stuck it the frame very simple I know but love how it turned out and finished with a few coats of vanish which you cant see in the photo but it does enhance the blending of the papers

Craft-room Challenge 58

My second and final piece as a guest designer for the craft-room challenge, which is to use something new.
I  have used Glimering Hope which I  bought from the sadly missed Happy Daze and the arch from aperture set 1 from Stamps away,  I used this on my homemade gelli plate (one day I'll treat myself to a proper one as I love making mono prints) I have then sketched around the arch with a pen and used distress picket fence through a very old fiskar stencil and added the word Hope with some punched out butterflies.
I would also like to add my card to the Allsorts challenge which is also used your new stash

It's been a pleasure visiting your blogs
Thank you Craft-room challenge

2 ATC's

Gosh 2 posts in 2 days so unlike me lol but saw the challenge at Fun with ATC's was to use die cuts and with Cathryn's  amazing twinchies at Artful Times still fresh in my mind I set to just randomly sticking on die cut flowers gesso the whole lot and sprayed with dylusion inks and finished off with some metallic waxes

Then I found one I hadn't blogged think my brain was else where ha ha

A shaving foam background with the umbrella man cut from 2 different mono prints and a quote which fits nicely into the challenge at Country View which is quotes
I forgot to say the Author is unknown but the stamp is one of Tim Holtz
Phew need a rest now
Take care all and hope you've had a brill weekend

summer for OOAH

Hello hello hello and welcome to Annie, that makes 99 followers :)
Seems ages since I have made something for a challenge and I see the lovely ladies at OOAH have a summer challenge and inspiration suddenly hit at about 10.30 last night with an "I wonder" I'm not sure if I have seen it done before as who knows what we absorb when blog hopping.
I've striped the top off of some corrugated card and painted it white I then inked up my embossing folder and run it through the big shot yeah it work ! what I mean is I got the result I was hoping for, which was creating a depressed printed image whist still leaving the texture of the of the corrugated card, then added some soft subtle inks to create a soft romantic feel of summer. I liked it so much I didn't to overload it so rooted about in my polymer clay bits box and added the bird and flowers .

I'm pleased with it though not with the photos :(
Hope you like to too and thanks for popping by :)

Could do better !

Yes I think we crafters could make a better job of creating a cabinet of curio's than this one I saw in a museum on a mini break the OH and I took to Bath.
Just think of the fun a group of crafting friends could have over a  weekend. What say you ? :)

The rest of the museum was wonderful with interesting displays and a theme of eye ball  photographs dotted around .
We had a lovely time and saw all the usual sights though I didn't drag Keith around the Fashion museum
Thank you for popping by :)

Craft-room Bingo Challenge

View BINGO.png in slide show
It's wonderful to have been asked to be a guest at Craft-Room Challenge for August
I have managed to avoid doing a bingo challenge up till now, so a first for me.
I have gone for butterfly, mask and lace

I have used the same prima mask for  my background and foreground with inks and paints, the blue butterfly had been triple embossed and stamped into and just to finish it off a tiny piece of lace has been tucked behind on of the squares.
Their sponsors for this month are Sweet Poppy stencils

One for 3

Have you seen it's a technique challenge over at Artful Times and at Fashionable Stamping it's Flora and Fauna and at Ali Craft  it's butterflies so I have combined the three.
Despite how wonderful the weather has been I've not seen that many butterflies about, so thought I would make some of my own.
The technique is masking and just takes a little planning for me, first on scrap paper
then onto the card

I finished off by masking the whole design and adding a soft green ink to make it really pop against the white of the card

Steampunk

Hello to you all on this beautiful sunny day.
Still playing with polymer clay here and have been making hair barrettes, one of which  is in the steampunk style, I've used stamp and moulds to create my images.

I did contemplate adding colour but decided to leave it black so maybe the next one will have distress colours

I'm linking this to ABAC who's theme is steampunk

Thanks for popping by :)

Ower Mrs

Now when I saw the challenge at Artful Times was white on white I thought phew I'm not on the team at the moment, but would you believe it as I was playing with some polymer clay I had one of those light bulb moments ! :)
I'm not sure how you would describe it  but I am pleased how it's turned out, the polymer clay was baked on the wooden heart and then stuck on

Sail away

A  birthday card for a man friend as opposed boy friend, although I am greeted with a kiss and a cuddle :)  just happens to fit the bill of OOAH challenge the theme being Transport.

I looked though the mono prints I did and found one that reminded of sea and sky, then stamped my ship and added a little pink to the sky.
Thanks for the challenge ladies

Challenge 62 OOTH

Well here we are at the end of the month and it my last guest appearance  for the wonderful ladies at Out of the Hat challenge.
The brief I was given was Jewel in the crown, what ever that means to you, my mind wandered to the TV series of the same name then the crown jewels and rubies but did you know that what was thought of be a ruby, is in fact a spinel !

So here's my offering of an ATC. I wonder what the other have done ? and where it will take you !

Challenge 30 at Artful Times

Sadly this is to be my last post for Artful Times as I have decided to take a break from the commitment of the challenge, but I shall still be about so please continue to support Neet at Artful Times

Now on with the challenge which for the next fortnight will be "Vintage" and I took inspiration from Brenda and Yvonne  as they make such wonderful layered cards

I started with an embossed and painted background then an inked paper doily, the Crafty Individual image has been stamped many times and decoupaged  all finished off with lace
