Acylics and distress inks

I just wanted to make a post before I go off to Dundee for a week so if I get it right I shall be turning the word verification on sorry folk .
Can't think of any challenge to enter these into so it will have to be anything goes at Just for Fun lol
I so love painting  flowers in Sheenas style and this time I embossed with silver sparkle over the the butterfly, the background is also done with the acrylic paints you can have such fun making them .
Then at craft club on Tuesday evening I picked up this cute stamp for just £1.
She's stamped in versafine grey on water colour paper and coloured with distress inks and used the stains for the background
Have a good week everyone

Anything Goes at Just for Fun

I so enjoyed at seeing all your takes on the Steampunk theme what an inspiring bunch of crafters you are :)
As this is the 5th Thursday of the month it's anything goes well it is for you but we the DT thought we would challenge each other by sending a partner some random items to create with and my partner is Neet who send me all of this most of which I'd never crafted with before
there's a lovely games piece which I'm still stroking lol
I thought I would take the beads as my starting point and painted the corrugated card to match then I looked at the frames the one with the cellophane windows I believe are meant for coins and the retangular ones meant for film slides these had a coated surface so coloured them with AI inks worked beautifully.
I've used  the corrugated card 3 of the frames some of the fibers in the clock, the brown envelops to stamp on, some raffia and the beads.
Looking forward to seeing your anything goes

Embossing paste

Over at the Craft Barn the challenge is to use Dreamweavers embossing paste and the are some wonderful examples on show by the DT using the different types of pastes, not haveing any I had to wait for mine to arrive, I decided to go with the crackle paste which takes the distress inks beautifully.. LOVE it !
So for my go with it I've made a card and used an Anna Griffin stencil and stamp Wild honey and Peeled paint DI inks.......... er yes they were still on my desk from the last project but love them together and they worked well with the vintage style :)

Think I'm going to have a go on a box with it next .

Make My Monday

Make my Monday challenge is still on a flower theme this time add them to a tag who could resist :)
I've used the large paisley die from spellbinder wild honey and peeled paint DI inks and a lovely set of stamps won from Jozart  for guessing it was smooshies she'd written on her hand, thank you Jo :)
The shimmer you can see on main flower is perfect pearls

Steampunk week 21 Just for fun

This week at  Just for Fun  it's the choice of our Neet who is steampunk mad lol. you may notice a lack of steampunk on my blog it's not that I don't like it more I feel I can't do it justice, so for my piece I have made a collage of images representing the idea of steampunk  with an injection of wackiness .
What I would like to make is something in 3D but where do you start lol ...anyway thought I'd share a photo of sculpture I really like and says steampunk to me, a horse made from recycled motor part we saw on holiday a few years ago

Acetate embossing

Gosh think I must be ill, I've to today to post the frist being for the Craft barn Challenge where I had my wish granted and asked for ideas with acetate, so I have combined that with Gingersnaps Packaging .For the main part I have used the packaging and paper from a Tim Holtz product, embossed it and coloured with green stazon, the flower is also from acetate put the packaging this time coloured with AI's embossed with swiss dots then white stazon to highlight the dots (note to self make sure the rasied dots are not on the same side as the AI's. I now have a pinky tinge to my pad lol )and a base flower cut from a cereal box roughly painted with acyrlic paints then victorian velvet DI to cover the gaps
Think I shall use  this as a note book cover :)
Now when I made this flower there was another challenge I had in mind but could'nt remember where but have found it now, it's Make My Monday which is another new challenge blog you might like to checkout
Second is for Less is More where they want you to put it in a frame .
This is a sweet frame I've not used in a while and thought it would fit the challenge nicely , so I've embossed it masked it and stamped my image and coloured with DI inks
Phew after all that think I need some breakfeast :)

Grungy Monday with a twist

Linda at studio L3 has chosen a good one for us this week, shabby chic as demoed by Tim for his day 10 2007
I gave this a twist by useing the coloured dabbers on the base and the black on the top then stamped again and added more colour .
I used Cranberry Willow sandle and chewing gum on the base then added more cranberry sandle and chewing gumto pop the black
This is 5 x 5 and will eventually be used on the front of a card

Just for Fun Challenge

Can you believe it we are in June and now half way through the year, where has the time gone !

There are 5 Wednesdays in June so we the DT team at Just for Fun are having a week each, I have this the first week and I have chosen a theme of  I Spy With My Little Eye
There are some beautiful eye stamps and images and I'm sure we all have some in our collection gathering dust, well mine are lol so thought I should blow the cobwebs off and give one an airing and I think you'll agree with me that the team have done a fantastic job :)
I have made an atc the background is done with DI stains and the image stamped with archival with the eye bleached out and edged with Viva metal effect and Viva Croco .
I don't know about you but looks as if someone from the past, is looking into the futrue.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have some fun with this weeks challenge :)
